एक पिता की चिट्ठी
मैं एक engineer हूँ, और एक papa। एक रात dinner पर मेरे बेटे ने 10 superheroes के नाम सुनाए — powers के साथ। मैंने पूछा: अर्जुन कौन था? ... ख़ामोशी।
I am an engineer, and a papa. One night at dinner my son named ten superheroes — powers included. I asked him: who was Arjuna? … Silence.
मैंने श्लोक की class लगवाई, गीता की comic ख़रीदी। श्लोक ग़लत नहीं था — बच्चे तक पहुँचाने का तरीक़ा अधूरा था। तीन हफ़्ते में बच्चा bore। मेहनत थी, बदलाव नहीं।
I enrolled him in a shloka class, bought the Gita comic. The shloka was never wrong — the way it reached my child was incomplete. Three weeks in, he was bored. There was effort, but no change.
फिर एक रात मैंने गीता को एक parent की तरह पढ़ा। यह किताब एक घबराए हुए, talented young इंसान से शुरू होती है — अपनी ज़िंदगी के सबसे बड़े test के सामने। कृष्ण उसे डाँटते नहीं; हिम्मत देते हैं, सोच बदलते हैं। बच्चे mindset कहानियों से सीखते हैं। हमने बस कहानी सुनानी बंद कर दी थी।

I stopped trying to raise a child who memorises. I am raising a child who can face things. That is what I want for your child too.
